In the midst of prayer this morning I sat wondering what excactly this opening our home thing looks like for us? Asking God for just a hint of which path we should choose or if this is even our path at all. And kinda thankful that our situation means that we dont get to run full steam ahead of God.

In the most tender of ways God gave me just enough to let me know we were heading down the right path. He showed me that he had invited us into a family that existed before creation (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). A family that was perfect as is, that had no need of anything else; yet They wanted someone to be a part of it. Simply because when you have something good you want to share it. Love is meant to expand beyond its borders. It cannot be contained.

Thats the answer for us as well. We have something good. Not perfect like the trinity, but good. We have a family that knows love because we know the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We have a model of love that seeks to bring others in and not be exclusive. Its a picture of the eternal relationship that forms the body of Christ and works its way outward into the world. Because honestly when you adopt, foster or even open your home in hospitality you are welcoming others into the family of Christ. Expanding the family of God.
